wow. I haven't been on this site for at least 2 years or more. I had a diffrent screen name then. So I bought this new gun Savage model 16fhss In a .243 win it has the accutrigger and accustock. that thing is a tac driver!!! I got this gun cause I like how I can kill anything from yotes to deer. Here is my question what kind of ammo would be best for yotes?? I don't want to blow them away, cause I do save the pellets. Any tips would be great. I am not a member of your club but have been to one meeting. A nice guy named Joe Porath took me. I just got back into predator hunting after a long break cause I started fishing The FLW (bass tournaments) thanks

I have an Armalite AR-10 in .243 and I use mostly 70gr bullets. Weather you use a balistic tip or a hollow point, they both do pelt damage. You might consider using a solid copper bullet to keep pelt damage to a minimum. Solid bullets will just poke a small hole right through the coyote without doing much damage, but the coyote might still run off. Also, there is the cost of using solid copper bullets. Too pricey for me. Another way to go is to slow your feet per second down and that will cause less hydrostatic shock resulting in less pelt damage. Maybe something like an 80gr bullet around 3000 fps would be good.

Hey thanx for that info. Right now i've been shooting the Federal 100 grain soft point on the back of the box is says 2960 for Velocity (fps) Havn't shot a yote with it yet though. Went out yesterday and called one in but took him with my shotgun. I'm gonna try today just north of sunflower.
