Had our butts kicked again last night! We ended up with 90 points. XPC had 150 points(including one mountain lion). APC had 155 points(including one bobcat).
My team called in exactly one, one coyote. I started another series of calls, looked from right to left and had a coyotes skidding to a stop(30 yards in heavy brush) looking at me while in the middle of a call. The problem was that my shotgun was in my lap.
That one got away.

We called in 3-5. May have seen the same one twice on two different stands so we are not sure on the numbers. However, we couldn't connect. I had a 100 yd shot on one and shot thru some brush which was about 20 ft from me because I didn't want to stand up or move to the side several feet to get a clear shot over/around the brush. I connected well enough to get him spinning but he ran off. I was using vmaxs running 3100 fps so it probably was started expanding after hitting a twig. My partner had his shotgun when a dog hung up beyond the shotguns range.

badbait - You almost made me fall off the ladder when I heard those 2 shots go off :-) That was awesome. Pretty thick brush tho. He's out there somewhere tonight pulling buck shot from his butt ;-)

WHEN THEY ANNOUNCED THE FINAL TALLY, I THOUGHT THEY SAID APC-195, XPC 145, US 100.... AT 9PM, XPC ONLY HAD 1 LION AND 3 DOGS (=130 IN MY BOOK). I THOUGHT WE HAD 10 ANIMALS (100 PTS). I THOUGHT APC HAD 180PTS. ANYWAY, IT WAS ANNOUNCED ABOUT 10PM, AND NO MATTER HOW YA ADD IT, THE RESULTS ARE THE SAME. WE DONE GOOD JUST THE SAME, ESPECIALLY SINCE SOME OF US REFUSED TO E-CALL.

I am going off of Mikes announcement, also, fox were only 5 points each. They also extended the deadline a few minutes to allow some late XPC hunters to bring in a few more fox. Whatever, the rankings still stand. Bobcats were 50 and mountain lions 100points.
E-callers put me to sleep, they take the thrill of being the bait out of the sport.

I'm PO'ed I couldn't hunt that day. I had a family gathering I couldn't miss. I'll put in my 5 cents about e callers, don't like them. I can't see how someone can have a sense of accomplishment when the machine did all the work.
