REMINDER:Rifle bear season opens & reopens in most hunt units on October 2nd. Check your Hunting Regulations. If I am correct Oct. 2nd will be the last day of the early rifle bull elk season. They really pushed that elk season back. The bulls should be going CRAZZZY at night in the woods & junipers!
Bear Tips: To find bears you need to look where the food is located. They will also need water, especially if eating acorns. You should still be able to find some bears in the prickly pears. It is late and most pears will be on the ground but not all of them. In the higher pear elevations, also look at the scrub oak as it will still be good in some areas.
In the woods, if you do not have acorns in the big trees then you are in the wrong area. Find some acorns and don't forget nearby water (within 2-3 miles). Juniper trees with juniper berries on the ground are another place to check.
